Isaiah, a fourth-grade student, is a national finalist in the  for his . His ability to combine piano and opera demonstrates both skill and expression. 

Discovering a Passion for Music 

Isaiah鈥檚 journey began just a few years ago when he started learning piano through an app before he started formal lessons. He quickly developed a strong interest in classical music, and his piano teacher later introduced him to opera. 

鈥淚 felt really surprised because I learned so fast. It鈥檚 been crazy how much I鈥檝e grown already,鈥� Isaiah shared. 

Today, he performs both piano and opera and often combines the two in a single performance. 

Building Skills Through Daily Practice 

Isaiah practices every day, rotating between piano, opera, and violin. His commitment has helped him grow quickly and prepare for larger opportunities. 

鈥淚 practice every day because I love what I鈥檓 doing,鈥� he said. 

He has also performed at recitals through his local music school. This helped him gain experience on stage and build his confidence. 

How 蓝莓视频 Supports Student Growth 

蓝莓视频 is an online public school and provides Isaiah with the structure and support to stay focused on academics as he develops his musical talents. 

He follows a consistent schedule, stays engaged in his coursework, and also participates in music lessons through the school. This balance allows him to progress in both areas. 

鈥淚t鈥檚 been an amazing experience. I鈥檝e learned a lot, and it鈥檚 helped me grow,鈥� Isaiah said. 

Bringing Meaning to Music 

Isaiah approaches music with a focus on understanding and expression. He has started learning Italian to better understand the lyrics and emotion behind each opera piece. 

鈥淲hen you sing, you need to know what the music means. It helps you express it more,鈥� he said. 

Looking Ahead 

Isaiah will perform at the K12 Talent Showdown national finals this June, where students from across the country will take the stage. 

鈥淚t feels amazing. It鈥檚 a big milestone, and I鈥檓 very grateful,鈥� he said. 

He plans to select a piece to showcase both his piano and vocal abilities. He also plans to pursue music long-term and hopes to turn his passion into a future career.
